Copperplate and Spencerian are the two primary scripts I specialise in, which are also the base for many modern lettering styles. My first exposure to calligraphy was as a teenager - having been artistic my whole life, I knew it was something I wanted to learn. As I entered university, I bought my first pointed calligraphy pen and began spending more time practising calligraphy than studying. With calligraphy becoming a lost art, I wanted to revive the art and started sharing my journey through @charlartscript.
Charlart Script soon grew into one of the biggest calligraphy pages in the world. My work received millions of views and went viral for my distinct style. I worked with clients and major brands around the world, developing calligraphy learning materials and running workshops globally.
Taking a break...
After transitioning to corporate life, I found myself burnt out trying to balance a “regular” career while also growing a creative business. I felt that I had lost the passion which originally started Charlart Script. A few years ago, I decided to take a step back. To see more of the world, and figure out what truly fulfills me.
As I come back to Charlart Script, I'm open to all kinds of projects that stay true to my creative self and values. I've discovered that for me, it's not about scaling the business or taking as much work as possible, but about being able to put my heart into every project, making every one of them beautiful and meaningful.
